This is a story about the fate of the artist Alexander Zhendov. As an artist, he works in the field of political cartoon and drawing, poster, applied graphics and pictorial composition. He has been with communist political beliefs since an early age. In 1950, Zhendov wrote a letter to the General Secretary of the Communist Party, Valko Chervenkov, against the administration in the arts, about the disillusionment and rejection of the intelligentsia, and about the stifling of criticism. A negative campaign is being launched against him. At Chervenkov's request, Zhendov makes public self-criticism, but is nevertheless expelled from the Communist Party , and his work is considered incompatible with state policy in the field of art.
