Mahmud's Escape: A Syrian Family Seeking Refuge

29-year-old Mahmud used to be a rebel fighting the regime of President Assad but also the terrorists of the Islamic State. We see him in the Syrian trenches being shot at by a sniper. Later the camera follows him and his family on the dangerous boat ride from Turkey to Greece. From there the family travels through the Balkans, Austria and finally to a center for refugees in Switzerland.
