Marius Trésor, my father, was one of the greatest defenders of his time, but above all a pioneer, an inspiration for a whole generation of Antilleans, becoming the first Black captain of the French national football team. Between shyness, humility, tenacity, impulsiveness, competitiveness, and friendship, Marius Trésor built a career and a life that command respect. Today, it is through the eyes of others that his grandchildren become aware of who he is and of his renown. Through their questions, Marius Trésor looks back on his journey as a man who, almost in spite of himself, became a legend of football. In this documentary, his story intertwines with those of his friend Jacques Vendroux, his son and family, his former teammates, his sporting heirs, his supporters... Mixing family, social, historical and even political dimensions, the path taken by Marius Trésor in the 1970s and 1980s still resonates today.
