A popular singer endures what may be a permanent loss of hearing and speech during the peak of her career and as she struggles to give the performances she was once so used to providing, her boyfriend and a young female fan start to teach her sign language to help her cope with the humbling silence that she is now surrounded by so that she can communicate with a now very silent world.
