New York City. All heck breaks loose in this absurd, non stop, road trip adventure. Fast talking, Darby Lee, inherited stacks of manuscripts and tapes along with a million dollar book advance from her famous aunt, late author, Annie Lee. Darby reluctantly invests a large portion of her inheritance with Sal Carboni of Carboni carnivals after Darby's amputee, conman, ex-boyfriend, Albert Catalano, talks her into it. But soon, the down on his luck Catalano steals Darby's investment from the carnival safe and hightails it to California on the fast track. Darby, along with two Carboni enforcers head to California in hot pursuit while the delusional Darby constantly hears the voice of aunt Annie as she tries to help navigate Darby through the two legged rat race that it is.
