Perestroika hits the tropics in this romantic comedy set in Havana and Buenos Aires. Pepito wants the American Dream. Trouble is, he's a long time draft-dodger at the University of Havana avoiding the war in Angola. What's worse, he's been caught and ordered to report for army duty. But a bus crash at the Argentine Embassy in Havana gets him asylum and an unexpected side trip to Buenos Aires. There he discovers capitalism and girl problems. Gorgeous Buenos Aires locations, Argentina's favorite Jewish mother, Lilia Goldin, and specially commissioned mambos all add to this film that answers the question: what do you do when your dreams come true - kind of?
