Cassata

Giuseppe Paparo (Ton van Duinhoven) came from Naples to the Netherlands some twenty years ago, where he initially earned his living with an ice cream cart. Now he has a real ice cream parlor. He is married to a Dutch woman (Ina van Faassen) and together they have a daughter, Marina (Cristel Braak) who has inherited his father's temperament. Despite the fact that Giuseppe has been living in the Netherlands for twenty years, he has never lost his Italian nature and traditional views, which sometimes cause him to clash with his down-to-earth, modern and independent wife. The couple Kees and Mien, who have a flower stall in front of the ice cream parlor, also cause confrontation.
